Nārada & Śāṇḍilya Bhakti Sūtras
The Nārada and Śāṇḍilya Bhakti Sūtras are the two classic aphoristic texts on the path of devotion. Nārada defines bhakti as supreme love for the Divine and describes its signs, its practice and its fruits in short, luminous sūtras. Śāṇḍilya approaches the same subject more philosophically, defining bhakti as the highest attachment to Īśvara and relating it to knowledge and action. Studying them side by side reveals both the heart and the reasoning of the bhakti tradition.
