Bhaviṣya Purāṇa
The Bhaviṣya Purāṇa, the 'purāṇa of the future', is arranged in parvans and contains much on rites, vratas, the duties of the varṇas and the worship of Sūrya, the sun god. Its Pratisarga-parvan narrates later history in the form of prophecy, including figures from medieval and even colonial times. Scholars widely recognise these portions as late additions, some quite recent, so the text is a striking example of how purāṇas kept growing. This course reads it honestly, as tradition and as history.
