Brahmāṇḍa Purāṇa
Brahmāṇḍa Purāṇa
The Brahmāṇḍa Purāṇa takes its name from the brahmāṇḍa, the cosmic egg from which the universe unfolds. Arranged in four pādas, it covers creation, cosmography, the ages of Manu and royal lineages, sharing much material with the Vāyu Purāṇa. Its appended Lalitopākhyāna, in which Hayagrīva instructs the sage Agastya, contains the Lalitā Sahasranāma, central to Śrīvidyā worship, and the Adhyātma Rāmāyaṇa is traditionally ascribed to it. This two-volume course explores both cosmology and devotion.
