Brahmavaivarta Purāṇa
Brahmavaivarta Purāṇa
The Brahmavaivarta Purāṇa presents Kṛṣṇa as the supreme being, from whom all creation, including Brahmā, Viṣṇu and Śiva, proceeds. In four khaṇḍas, devoted to Brahmā, Prakṛti, Gaṇeśa and the birth of Kṛṣṇa, it gives Rādhā a central place as his eternal consort and treats the Goddess as Prakṛti in her many forms. Scholars regard the surviving text as substantially reworked in later centuries. It is essential for understanding Rādhā–Kṛṣṇa devotion.
