Caraka Saṃhitā
The Caraka Saṃhitā is the foundational classic of kāya-cikitsā, Āyurveda's internal medicine. It preserves the teachings of Ātreya Punarvasu to his disciple Agniveśa, revised by Caraka and later completed by Dṛḍhabala. Its eight sections (sthānas) explore the doṣas, diet, daily conduct, diagnosis and the ethics of the physician. This course reads the text with Atridev Gupt's Hindi commentary as a study of a classical tradition and its philosophy of health, not as medical advice.
