About this course

Nārada Purāṇa

The Nārada Purāṇa, sometimes called the Nāradīya, is a Vaiṣṇava purāṇa in two parts. In its first part the sage Sanatkumāra and his brothers instruct Nārada on bhakti, dharma and liberation, and survey the Vedāṅgas: phonetics, ritual, grammar, etymology, astronomy and metre. It is especially valued for its summaries of the contents of all eighteen purāṇas, and its later part praises vratas such as Ekādaśī and sacred places. It makes a useful map of the whole purāṇic library.

What you will learn

  • The teachings of Sanatkumāra and his brothers to Nārada
