About this course

Vedānta Darśana (Brahmasūtra)

The Brahmasūtra, attributed to Bādarāyaṇa, condenses the teaching of the Upaniṣads into terse aphorisms and is one of the three foundational texts of Vedānta, alongside the Upaniṣads and the Bhagavad Gītā. Its four chapters establish Brahman as the cause of the world, answer objections from rival schools, discuss the means of realisation, and describe its fruit. Studying this Gita Press edition, with Sanskrit text and Hindi explanation, shows how Vedānta argues its case and why so many great ācāryas wrote commentaries on it.
