About this course

Vividha Cikitsā

Vividha Cikitsā, "varied therapies", surveys how different Indian healing traditions, from classical Āyurveda to folk and household practice, have understood and approached common ailments. Across two volumes, the course compares their underlying ideas of body, balance and disease, and traces how practices travelled between texts and communities. It is offered as the study of a tradition and its history, not as medical advice: no remedy here is presented as a cure, and health concerns should always be taken to a qualified practitioner.

What you will learn

  • How different Indian healing traditions understand common ailments
