Patañjali Yoga Darśana
The Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali are the foundational text of the Yoga darśana, one of the six classical schools of Indian philosophy. In four chapters (pādas), they define yoga as the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind (citta-vṛtti-nirodha), describe the obstacles and afflictions that disturb it, set out the eight limbs from yama to samādhi, and culminate in kaivalya, the freedom of pure awareness. This Gita Press edition, with Hindi explanation, offers a careful path into the sūtras.
