108 Upaniṣads (Sanskrit)
The Muktikā Upaniṣad, framed as Śrī Rāma's teaching to Hanumān, lists 108 Upaniṣads arranged by the Veda each belongs to. This canon gathers the ancient principal Upaniṣads together with later texts on Vedānta, renunciation, yoga and devotion to Śiva, Viṣṇu and the Goddess. Studying it in Sanskrit, alongside the Upaniṣad Brahmam commentary, offers a panoramic view of Upaniṣadic thought: the nature of Brahman and Ātman, the paths to liberation, and how one tradition grew across many centuries.
