About this course

Vraja Maṇḍala Parikramā

Vraja, the land around Mathurā where Kṛṣṇa spent his childhood and youth, is among the holiest regions for devotees. The Vraja Maṇḍala parikramā, traditionally a circuit of eighty-four kos, takes pilgrims through Mathurā, Vṛndāvana, Gokula, Govardhana, Barsānā, Nandgaon and the sacred forests. This course is a pilgrim's guide: the stories connected with each place, the meaning and etiquette of parikramā, and how to visit with understanding and devotion, whether in person or in contemplation.
