Yajurveda
The Yajurveda is the Veda of the yajña: prose and verse formulas (yajus) recited by the adhvaryu priest who performs the rite. It survives in two branches, the Kṛṣṇa (Black) and the Śukla (White), the latter traditionally linked with Maharṣi Yājñavalkya. Its fortieth chapter is the celebrated Īśa Upaniṣad. This course reads the Śukla Yajurveda through Swami Dayanand Saraswati's bhāṣya, which draws out the ethical, social and spiritual meaning of each mantra alongside its place in ritual.
